Cubs' John Lackey: Looks great in no-decision versus Marlins on Wednesday

Lackey allowed three runs on seven hits, struck out eight and walked none over seven innings, but he took a no-decision in the victory over the Marlins.

Analysis:

The veteran right-hander has responded well since struggling through June and early July. He has allowed just four runs in his last 13 frames. Lackey has also struck out at least eight batters for the fifth time since July 10. He is 8-7 with a 3.70 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 145 strikeouts in 143.2 innings. His next start will be Wednesday against the Angels.
