Blue Jays' Aaron Sanchez: Not moving to bullpen just yet
Sanchez will make his next scheduled start Friday, Sportsnet reports.
Analysis:
General manager Ross Atkins said "we haven't worked through the details" of when the transition happens, but the acquisition of Francisco Liriano seemingly assures that Sanchez will be moved to a relief role in the near future. However, the team has used vocabulary that keeps the door cracked for the right-hander to remain or return to the rotation if desired. Despite all the talk of moving him, it's hard to fully believe the Jays would do such a thing down the stretch with their best pitcher, one that is putting up numbers in line with Cy Young candidates.
