Blue Jays' Aaron Sanchez: To move to bullpen

Sanchez could make one or two more starts, but will be moving to the bullpen, Toronto GM Ross Atkins told Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.

Analysis:

At 139.1 innings this year, Sanchez has already set a career high by 47 innings. He has been stellar, with a 2.71 ERA and 118 strikeouts, but at just 24 years old, the Blue Jays are going to handle him with an eye to the future. Roberto Osuna will continue to serve as closer, which could leave Sanchez as the relief ace in Toronto's bullpen used to put out fires before the ninth inning.
