Giants' Denard Span: Doubtful for Sunday

Span (quadriceps) is considered doubtful for Sunday's game against the Nationals, John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Analysis:

While Span was able to pinch-hit Saturday, he was lifted for a pinch runner after grounding into a force out and it sounds like he needs another day to rest his ailing quad. Span suffered the injury in a collision at first base on a bunt single Friday but was able to finish the game.
