Padres' Keith Hessler: Optioned to El Paso
Hessler was optioned to Triple-A El Paso on Saturday, Carlos Collazo of MLB.com reports.
Analysis:
Hessler was recalled from El Paso earlier in the week, but he'll head back down as the Padres clear a spot on the roster for Jarred Cosart, who was acquired via trade Friday. The left-hander has appeared in three games for the Padres this season, allowing eight hits and seven earned runs in just 5.0 cumulative innings.
