Mets' Jose Reyes: Could be headed for the disabled list

Manager Terry Collins indicated after Friday's game that Reyes (ribs) may require a stint on the disabled list, Adam Rubin of ESPN.com reports.

Analysis:

Collins was initially hopeful that Reyes' intercostal strain would not land him on the disabled list, but it appears the chances of that occurring have increased. It remains to be seen ultimately how long Reyes will need to recover from his setback, but he has not played since Tuesday, so his placement could be made retroactively to July 27 if he does wind up on the DL.
