Jonathan Lucroy is widely expected to have a new home by Monday's 4 p.m. ET deadline. Where that home will be isn't clear just yet.

The Texas Rangers, who reportedly emerged as the frontrunners for the two-time All-Star's services after Sunday's trade to the Cleveland Indians fell through, apparently haven't discussed Lucroy with the Milwaukee Brewers since late Sunday night thanks to the possible emergence of one or two mystery teams, according to Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports.

Rosenthal suggested the Houston Astros and Detroit Tigers as possible mystery-team candidates in the Lucroy sweepstakes, though it appears the Tigers may not be fully involved. While the Astros have a solid catcher in Jason Castro, their involvement may stem from a possible desire to keep Lucroy away from the division-rival Rangers.

Although their talks might have stagnated for the moment, ESPN's Jerry Crasnick reported the Rangers are still working hard to acquire Lucroy, who would be an instant improvement behind the plate. Rangers catchers own a collective .234/.287/.425 slash line this year, while also battling various injuries.

Lucroy, meanwhile, is simply waiting to find out where he'll be playing next. He stayed in Milwaukee Sunday night, according to Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, and if he's not dealt will immediately fly to San Diego and rejoin the Brewers in time for Monday's game against the Padres.
