A three-team blockbuster trade involving the Cincinnati Reds, Los Angeles Dodgers, and a mystery team that had Jay Bruce heading to L.A. isn't happening, a source told ESPN's Jayson Stark.

The Dodgers are still talking to the Reds, however, about the highly coveted Bruce, according to Stark even though they prefer a right-handed bat. The Dodgers are still in on Oakland Athletics outfielder Josh Reddick, who has recently been discussed in a potential package with A's starter Rich Hill.

There has been speculation that Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig will be attached in any deal made to acquire a big bat. Before the three-way trade rumor materialized, the Reds and Dodgers discussed a deal centered on Bruce and Puig, sources told Yahoo Sports' Jeff Passan.

While Puig has struggled immensely this season, both Reddick and Bruce have been steady producers and have upped their trade value at the right time.

Reddick .371 .451 122 .822
Bruce .319 .566 127 .885
