The Los Angeles Dodgers could be on the brink of winning the Jay Bruce sweepstakes.

ESPN's Jayson Stark reports there are rumblings of a three-team extravaganza involving the Dodgers, Cincinnati Reds and a mystery team that would see Bruce land with the Dodgers.

FOX Sports' Jon Morosi reports the Dodgers and Tampa Bay Rays have had recent trade talks that could link up with the Reds, according to sources, although Stark's sources refute this.

Bruce has been a highly sought-after piece on the trade market and as of July 26, the Reds were reportedly discussing him with at least four teams, which included the Dodgers, Washington Nationals, Baltimore Orioles, and New York Mets.

Cincinnati is reportedly seeking a top prospect for the services of Bruce, who is in the midst of a career year, leading the NL in RBIs with 79 to go along with 25 home runs and a 133 OPS+.

The 29-year-old would give the Dodgers another potent bat to add to a lineup that already boasts lefties Adrian Gonzalez, Corey Seager, Joc Pederson and Chase Utley, among others. Bruce has hit right-handed pitching at a .274/.332/.595 clip with 20 home runs and 60 RBIs.

He's owed the remainder of his $12.5-million salary for the 2016 season and has a $13-million team option for 2017.
