Nationals' Gio Gonzalez: Takes no-decision in quality start against Cleveland

Gonzalez allowed three runs (two earned) on five hits and two walks with four strikeouts in 6.1 innings but came away with a no-decision Tuesday against Cleveland.

Analysis:

Gonzalez didn't miss many bats Tuesday night (six swinging strikes in 105 pitches), but he survived by keeping the ball in the yard even as he induced 10 flyball outs. After a rough June (6.83 ERA, 15 walks in 27 innings), Gonzalez has righted the ship in July as he now has three quality starts in four outings this month. Unfortunately, a Jonathan Papelbon blown save kept him out of consideration for the win Tuesday night. He'll try to keep things going next time out Sunday in San Francisco.
