Mets' Noah Syndergaard: Fans eight in losing effort Tuesday
Syndergaard (9-5) allowed three runs, two of which were earned, on seven hits and three walks while striking out eight over six innings to take the loss Tuesday against the Cardinals.
Analysis:
Syndergaard gave up a two-run homer to Jedd Gyorko in the third inning to fall behind 3-0, but the Cardinals offense was unable to get closer than one run the rest of the way. He's now held opponents to six earned runs in 23.1 innings over his last four starts, and he boasts a 2.45 ERA to go along with the 1.13 WHIP. He'll make his next start Sunday against the Rockies.
