Seattle Mariners right-hander Taijuan Walker is reportedly drawing plenty of interest from opposing clubs prior to the Aug. 1 trade deadline, according to Bob Nightengale of USA Today.

Walker hasn't pitched since July 5, and is currently on the disabled list with a foot injury that has flared up several times this season. He'll join the Mariners at Wrigley Field prior to their series against the Cubs on Friday, where he'll throw a bullpen session; scouts from multiple teams are expected to be in attendance, per Nightengale.

Trading Walker could be considered something of a shock despite his injury, considering he's been one of the Mariners' better pitchers when healthy. The 23-year-old owns a 3.66 ERA while striking out 8.4 batters per nine innings this season, his first full year in the majors before the foot injury.

Despite the trade speculation Seattle sits just six games back in the AL West race, and 4 1/2 games out of a wild-card spot.
