Yankees' Luis Severino: Will be used as reliever

Severino, who was recalled by the Yankees on Monday, will pitch out of the bullpen, MLB.com's Bryan Hoch reports.

Analysis:

With Aroldis Chapman getting dealt to the Cubs on Monday, the Yankees could use another shutdown reliever, and Severino should fit the bill. He posted a 3.25 ERA and 1.08 WHIP with 57 strikeouts in 63.2 innings at Triple-A after getting bumped from the big league rotation earlier in the year, and his stuff should really play up in short bursts out of the bullpen. Of course, he could be transitioned back to the rotation if the Yankees have a need, but for now it seems he will only reliably provide fantasy owners with strikeouts and ratios.
