Blue Jays' Bo Schultz: Fails to finish off Padres

Schultz allowed two hits, one of which was a two-run homer, in the ninth inning of Monday's 4-2 win over the Padres.

Analysis:

Schultz got the chance to finish the game, but only managed to get one out before turning a non-save situation into closer Roberto Osuna's 21st save of the season. It's never a good look when a reliever takes a day off away from the closer, but it's especially bad when that reliever lacks job security. Schultz has bounced back and forth from Triple-A Buffalo to Toronto all season, and he'll hope Monday's failure doesn't require him to get his passport out again to head south of the border.
