Brewers' Domingo Santana: Suffers big setback, rehab shut down
Santana (elbow) suffered a "big setback" and will be shut down while the medical staff runs tests, according to manager Craig Counsell, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel's Tom Haudricourt reports.
Analysis:
Santana's elbow got sore again just from swinging a bat over the weekend, and he was scratched from Monday's rehab appearance with Low-A Wisconsin. Given how many setbacks Santana has had in his recovery attempts this season, it would not be surprising if surgery is deemed necessary for the young slugger. More information should be available in the coming days, but single-season owners who have been stashing Santana can start to contemplate cutting ties at this point.
