Orioles' J.J. Hardy: Out of Sunday's lineup

Hardy is out of the lineup Sunday against the Indians, MLB.com's Brittany Ghiroli reports.

Analysis:

Hardy has sported a hot bat since the All-Star break, going 12-for-33 (.364 average) at the dish with a homer and four RBI. The shortstop will turn 34 years old in August, so Orioles skipper Buck Showalter will likely look to rest him occasionally down the stretch in order to preserve Hardy for a potential postseason run. Ryan Flaherty will cover shortstop for Hardy on Sunday.
