Mariners' Seth Smith: Out of Sunday's lineup

Smith is out of the lineup Sunday against the Blue Jays.

Analysis:

Mariners skipper Scott Servais will shield Smith from the Blue Jays' lefty hurler, J.A. Happ, enabling Norichika Aoki to claim another start. Smith could be at somewhat of an extended break; after Sunday's game, the Mariners are off Monday before kicking off a series with the Pirates on Tuesday. The Pirates are listing lefty starters both Tuesday and Wednesday, making it a good bet that Smith is out of the lineup for those contests, too.
