Diamondbacks' Zack Greinke: Throws 45-pitch bullpen session

Greinke completed a 45-pitch bullpen session Saturday, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.

Analysis:

Diamondbacks manager Chip Hale noted that Greinke came away from the session feeling strong, but the team has yet to decide if the right-hander is ready to begin the next phase of his rehab. Greinke has been bothered by the oblique injury since late June, so he'll likely need to make at least one rehab start in the minors before the Diamondbacks consider activating him from the DL.
