The Washington Nationals announced Wednesday infielder Stephen Drew has been placed on the 15-day disabled list - retroactive to July 24 - with vertigo-like symptoms, .
Drew, 33, hadn't appeared in a game since a pinch-hit appearance on July 23, and had recently been dealing with the flu.

Drew owns a .262/.319/.563 slash line with seven home runs and 17 RBIs across 116 plate appearances.
In a corresponding move, the Nationals recalled infielder Wilmer Difo from Double-A Harrisburg.
