Orioles' Hyun Soo Kim: Slated to begin rehab assignment

Kim (hamstring) will begin a rehab assignment with Double-A Bowie on Sunday, Jon Meoli of the Baltimore Sun reports.

Analysis:

The plan calls for Kim to play Sunday and Monday with the affiliate, and if all goes well, he could return from the DL on Tuesday when first eligible. Joey Rickard (thumb) is looking at an extended absence, but it's hard to imagine Kim will step into an everyday role upon activation, given that the O's have been strict about limiting his exposure to lefties so far. Nolan Reimold figures to get the starts in left field against opposing southpaws.
