Red Sox's Mookie Betts: MRI comes back negative

The results of an MRI on Betts's knee were negative, Pete Abraham of the Boston Globe reports.

Analysis:

After departing Friday's contest, Betts is being withheld from the lineup Saturday with some swelling in his knee, but the MRI revealed nothing more than some minor fluid buildup. The Sox are considering Betts day-to-day, though Abraham notes that it doesn't look to be anything overly concerning. Michael Martinez will get the starting nod in Betts' place Saturday.
