Red Sox's Mookie Betts: Out of lineup Saturday
Betts (knee) is out of the lineup Saturday against the Twins, Pete Abraham of the Boston Globe reports.
Analysis:
A bout of right knee soreness forced Betts from Friday's game, but not before he hit his 20th home run of the season. Manager John Farrell revealed after the game that this isn't a brand new ailment -- Betts has been receiving treatment for the knee issue, which has developed since the break -- and it seems like the Red Sox want to get out in front of this and protect the premier leadoff hitter in the game. Michael Martinez will get the start in his absence.
