Marlins' David Phelps: Struggles continue in Friday loss

Phelps was saddled with the loss Friday, allowing one run on two hits and a walk while retiring just one batter against the Mets.

Analysis:

Phelps entered with the game tied in the seventh and allowed back-to-back singles and a sacrifice fly that drove in the go-ahead run. The veteran reliever then walked Wilmer Flores before he was removed from the game. Phelps has been largely steady for the Marlins this season, but holds a concerning 8.44 ERA and 2.81 WHIP over his last six appearances (5.1 innings). He's walked seven batters and allowed two home runs over that time after allowing just 12 walks and a pair of home runs in his previous 44 innings.
