Cardinals' Jedd Gyorko: Sends games into extras with 12th homer

Gyorko went 2-for-5 with a walk and a ninth-inning game-tying home run Friday against the Dodgers.

On the first pitch he saw from closer Kenley Jansen, Gyorko tied the game 3-3 with two outs in the ninth, and the Cardinals eventually went on to win in 16 innings. The blast was his 12th of the season, and his fifth home run of July. The infielder has now hit safely in 10 of 13 games this month while racking up 11 RBI and 10 runs.
