Twins' Kyle Gibson: Fires eight dominant innings Friday

Gibson (3-6) allowed one run on two hits and one walk while striking out six over eight innings to earn the win Friday at the Red Sox.

Analysis:

After allowing a lead-off homer to Mookie Betts, Gibson stymied the Red Sox the rest of the way, leaving the contest after throwing only 96 pitches through eight innings. This was his first quality start over his last four outings, and he now has a 4.67 ERA to go along with a 1.39 WHIP on the year. He'll make his next start Thursday against the Orioles.
