Phillies barrel through Pirate Parrot in football scrimmage
MLB.com
There's a reason Cody Asche is a baseball outfielder and not an NFL center.
The Philadelphia Phillies left fielder was responsible for snapping the ball to the Pirate Parrot, the Pittsburgh Pirates' mascot, in a fun scrimmage before Friday's tilt between the two teams, but he may have deliberately failed at the other half of his job.
After handing the ball off, Asche simply stepped aside as Peter Bourjos and Tommy Joseph delivered a feather-crunching tackle.
The betrayal appears even worse when you realize Asche could have probably used "the force" to protect the poor Pirate Parrot.
