Padres' Wil Myers: Out of lineup Friday

Myers is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Nationals.

Analysis:

The 25-year-old was hit by a pitch Wednesday (his first HBP this season) but his absence Friday is not believed to be injury-related in any way, just a routine day off. It seems like Myers could use a breather, as he's 2-for-22 over his last six games and 4-for-25 since the All-Star break. Brett Wallace will get the nod at first base.
