Athletics' Rich Hill: Not close to return

Athletics manager Bob Melvin said Thursday that Hill is not close to getting on the mound, John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Analysis:

Hill (blister) played catch Wednesday and Thursday, but will not return to the mound until the blister has fully subsided. Hill is one of the top starting pitchers available as we near the trade deadline, and this will no doubt impact the Athletics' ability to move him. Jesse Hahn will start in Hill's place on Sunday.
