Analysis:
He was a late scratch Thursday, but apparently manager Dusty Baker had made the decision to give the veteran a day off several hours before the news of the new lineup came out. Michael Taylor will start in center field and hit second, with Chris Heisey sliding over to left field. Werth should be fresh for the weekend series against the Padres.
