Rays' Enny Romero: Turns in fourth consecutive scoreless outing
Romero continues to pitch well following a difficult late-June/early July-stretch, firing a scoreless, one-hit inning in Wednesday's 11-3 victory over the Rockies. He also issued a walk and recorded a strikeout.
Analysis:
The 25-year-old southpaw now has four consecutive scoreless appearances following a trio of outings between June 28 and July 5 where he surrendered a combined eight earned runs on nine hits over 2.1 innings. The after effects of a line drive that Romero took to his pitching hand in a June 25 appearance against the Orioles may have been partly to blame for those struggles, but recent performances appear to indicate he is fully recovered.
