Jose Bautista isn't expected to rejoin the Toronto Blue Jays until Monday, at the earliest, but the recuperating slugger certainly looks like he's ready to come off the disabled list.

Bautista, who landed on the DL after hyperextending his left big toe June 16, began his rehab stint in auspicious fashion Wednesday, smoking a solo shot to left field in his first at-bat with High-A Dunedin. The decorated 35-year-old is expected to join the Blue Jays' Triple-A affiliate in Buffalo on Friday.

Before landing on the DL, the six-time All-Star managed an .815 OPS (118 OPS+) with 12 homers and 15 doubles in 65 games with Toronto this season.
