Athletics' Arismendy Alcantara: Recalled from Nashville

Alcantara was recalled from Triple-A Nashville on Wednesday. He is in the lineup Wednesday against Houston.

Analysis:

After spending the last three weeks in the minors, Alcantara will return to fill the roster spot of lefty Dillon Overton, who was optioned to Nashville. Alcantara has appeared in only three games for the A's on the year, going 2-for-8 at the plate with four strikeouts. In 77 Triple-A contests between the A's and Cubs organizations, he's slashing .274/.318/.432 with 28 stolen bases. Alcantara will get the starting nod at second base Wednesday, and he'll bat ninth in the order.
