Another one of the Houston Astros' talented young players is on the verge of making their major-league debut.

The club announced Sunday it will call up top prospect Alex Bregman on Monday following a brief stint with Triple-A Fresno.

"It's a dream come true," Bregman told reporters. "I'm ready to get to work, keep my mouth shut and hopefully help contribute."

Bregman, the second pick in the 2015 draft, dominated the minor leagues this season. In 80 games split between Double- and Triple-A, the 22-year-old hit .306/.406/.580 with 20 home runs, 22 doubles, and seven stolen bases.

A natural shortstop, Bregman appeared in three games in left field with Fresno in order to prepare for a potential position change at the major-league level. The Astros are set at shortstop with Carlos Correa, but could use Bregman at either third base or left field. Astros manager A.J. Hinch acknowledged Sunday he's unsure where he'll play Bregman.

The Astros have won four straight games and sit just 2 1/2-games back of the division lead as they prepare for a three-game series with the New York Yankees beginning Monday.
