Brian Cashman appears to have made up his mind.

After weeks of debating whether or not they'll be buyers or sellers, the New York Yankees are reportedly telling clubs they are close to trading All-Star closer Aroldis Chapman and will hold on to Andrew Miller, sources told Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports.

The Washington Nationals, Chicago Cubs, San Francisco Giants, and Cleveland Indians are all believed to have interest in landing Chapman.

The Yankees have won five of their last seven games but still sit 7 1/2-games back in the division after dropping a 2-1 decision to the Giants on Saturday.

Trading Chapman over Miller makes the most sense for the Yankees, who intend on being competitive next season. The flamethrower is a free agent at the end of the season, and Cashman could opt to trade him for prospects with the intentions of re-signing him over the winter.

Miller, meanwhile, is under contract through the next three seasons.

Chapman has been excellent this year despite sitting out the first month of the season with a suspension. In 30 appearances, the 28-year-old owns a 2.15 ERA and 0.92 WHIP to go with 41 strikeouts over 29 1/3 innings.
