Cueto rips Royals for White House snub

Johnny Cueto is seething over a lack of courtesy by his former club.

After it was revealed Saturday that the Kansas City Royals didn't even extend Cueto an invite to their White House visit on Thursday, Cueto responded by berating his former club for leaving him off the guest list.

"I did a job for them so I feel they should have had the courtesy to invite me," Cueto told reporters postgame, according to Andrew Baggarly of the San Jose Mercury News.

Royals general manager Dayton Moore defended Cueto's omission stating that only current players with the club were invited on the trip. Still, the decision is questionable at best considering Cueto had a very influential hand in Kansas City's postseason run.

The 30-year-old right-hander finished 2-1 in four playoff starts, including a complete game against the Mets in the Fall Classic where he limited New York to one earned run on two hits in a solid Game 2 performance.

"I did something for the team to win the World Series, so yes, I was expecting it," Cueto said. "Nobody has called me or anything."
