Angels' Nick Tropeano: Will likely need Tommy John surgery
Tropeano (elbow) will most likely need Tommy John surgery after suffering a tear in his UCL, Mike DiGiovanna of the LA Times reports.
Analysis:
Tropeano will get a second opinion on his elbow after leaving Monday's contest against the A's after just two innings. He is potentially the third starting pitcher that would be out with UCL tears for Los Angeles this season, to go along with Garrett Richards and Andrew Heaney. If the injury does indeed require Tommy John surgery, Tropeano could likely miss most, if not all, of the 2017 season.
