Dodgers' Clayton Kershaw: Temporarily shut down

Kershaw will be shut down until the pain in his back subsides, Andy McCullough of the LA Times reports.

Analysis:

Kershaw threw a 60-pitch sim game Saturday and manager Dave Roberts revealed Tuesday that the ace "didn't feel great" Sunday morning following the session. The Dodgers certainly won't take any chances with Kershaw, so they'll shut him down for the time being. When queried about a potential return date, Roberts commented only that he's "uncertain," so at this point it's possible Kershaw's absence could extend into next month.
