Cubs' Ben Zobrist: Not in Sunday's lineup

Zobrist is out of the lineup Sunday against the Rangers.

Analysis:

Chalk this up as a rare day off for the Chicago utility man, as Zobrist had tallied eight straight starts between second base, right field and left field. He remains on pace for one of the better statistical seasons of his career, but a 5-for-41 start to July has dropped his batting average nearly 20 points, and a 0-for-6 start to the second half likely prompted a day off. Look for him to return to action when the Cubs open a three-game set with the Mets on Monday.
