Cubs' Dexter Fowler: Targeting return next week
Manager Joe Maddon hopes Fowler (hamstring) will return to the Cubs by the end of next week, Carrie Muskat of MLB.com reports.
Analysis:
Fowler went 0-for-2 with two walks in his single game at Low-A South Bend, but the expectation is that he'll resume his rehab assignment in the near future. While it's not definite that Fowler will be back by the end of next week, Maddon is hopeful, as the Cubs have struggled since Fowler went down with his hamstring injury, having gone 7-15 in the games since.
