Embattled shortstop Jose Reyes continues to try and ingratiate himself with fans and his New York Mets teammates.

On Thursday, the former All-Star shared a photo on Instagram of Mets catcher Travis d'Arnaud opening a Rolex-inspired gift from Reyes as a token of appreciation for giving up his No. 7 jersey.

D'Arnaud, who switched to No. 18 in honor of retired NFL star Peyton Manning, had previously said he wanted to keep the "trade" between he and Reyes.

“He has got a lot more time than I do and I thought it would be the right decision," d'Arnaud, who has also worn No. 15 during his four-year career, told Peter Botte of the New York Daily News.

Reyes' return to the Mets has been met with mixed results following a 52-game suspension for a domestic violence arrest in October. Though he's received significant backlash from local newspapers and baseball fans on social media, Reyes was welcomed back to Citi Field on Tuesday with a standing ovation during the first at-bat of his second stint with the club.

"They showed me a lot of love," Reyes said after the game. And I respect that."
