Pirates' David Freese: Playing time increase?

Freese extended his batting streak to seven games Tuesday, going 2-for-4 with a double and RBI against the Cardinals.

Analysis:

He's hitting .385 in his last 28 plate appearances and continues to exceed preseason expectations. Freese could also be in line for additional playing time if Jung-Ho Kang is forced to miss time due to legal problems. Freese is slashing .296/.369/.463 with eight homers and 36 RBI in 268 plate appearances.
