Harper shows off Independence Day-themed bat

Bryce Harper has the coolest bat in the majors, but he's not allowed to use it.

As the Washington Nationals take on the Milwaukee Brewers for the first game on July 4, Harper tweeted out a photo of a wicked bat that screams American patriotism.

But due to MLB rules, he won't be permitted to use it.

Harper has always been an advocate of expressing oneself on the diamond, whether it be bat flips, bat decals, cleats, or anything else. So whenever given the opportunity to talk about the subject, he usually stirs the pot.

"One day I hope players in the MLB can express the way they feel and give thanks to everybody that makes our lives possible and safe every single day through bats or cleats or anything to that point," he said in the post. "Again thank you and Oorah and no I will not being using this bat today to respect the rules of MLB!"

Last year, Harper used a special USA bat on July 4, and used it to blast a home run off Madison Bumgarner.
