Pirates' Jung Ho Kang: Tough Sunday extends batting slump

Kang went 0-for-5 against Oakland on Sunday, stranding eight baserunners, and has just four hits in his last 33 at-bats.

Analysis:

He's still seeing the bulk of starts at third base, but manager Clint Hurdle might be tempted to rest him more often with David Freese (who also plays first base) hitting well. Kang is 5-for-18 against Monday starter Carlos Martinez and hit a pair of homers in St. Louis in his season debut back in early May.
