Diamondbacks' Zack Greinke: Strained oblique confirmed

An MRI confirmed that Greinke has suffered an oblique strain, MLB.com's Steve Gilbert reports.

Analysis:

Greinke was sent for an MRI on Saturday, but before the team disclosed the results, he was placed on the disabled list. The results of that MRI are now in, and they effectively confirm what the team had anticipated all along. Look for the right-hander to return to the Arizona rotation shortly after the All-Star break.
