Giants' Buster Posey: Not in Friday's lineup

Posey is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Diamondbacks, Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Analysis:

Posey will get what looks like a routine day off following six consecutive starts, with Trevor Brown replacing him behind the plate. With two hits Thursday, including a home run, Posey bumped his average to .288 and ended a nearly month-long power outage -- it was his first homer since June 2.
