The Washington Nationals scored 13 runs Thursday against the Cincinnati Reds, and Danny Espinosa was responsible for more than half of them.

Espinosa homered twice, including a grand slam, to record seven RBIs for the National League East-leading Nationals.

After a right-handed hitting Espinosa took Reds starter Brandon Finnegan deep with a third-inning grand slam, he decided to do a similar amount of damage from the left side, launching a three-run shot off Josh Smith in the fourth.

With the two blasts, Espinosa became the first player in Nationals history to hit a home run from both sides of the plate, according to Elias Sports Bureau.
