Pirates' AJ Schugel: Showing improvement in June
Schugel threw a scoreless eighth inning Wednesday, giving him a 1.84 ERA in 14.2 innings since June 10.
Analysis:
He's becoming one of Pittsburgh's more reliable relievers in a season of bullpen disappointment. Schugel is no higher than fourth on the totem pole for counting stats in the pen, but that could change after the trade deadline. At the least, he's worth keeping an eye on.
