The Cleveland Indians are one win away from tying the longest winning streak in franchise history after defeating the Atlanta Braves 3-0 on Wednesday.

Cleveland swept its fourth straight series to extend the majors' longest winning streak this season to 12 games.

"You try not to think about it too much and just play hard every day," Indians outfielder Lonnie Chisenhall told reporters. "With the guys running out there who are on the mound for us, it's not too difficult on the offense, and we're getting some timely hits when we need them. It's a fun part of the summer where we're able to try to separate ourselves."

The Indians used seven strong innings from Danny Salazar to help them move one win away from matching the longest winning streak in franchise history. They won 13 straight in 1942 and 1951. They had another 12-game streak in 1922.

Salazar is now 10-3 with a 2.22 ERA, which puts him second in the AL behind only Steven Wright of the Boston Red Sox.

Cleveland (47-30) began the day leading the second-place Kansas City Royals by six games in the AL Central.

The Indians will try to tie a franchise record by winning their 13th straight when they head to Toronto to take on the Blue Jays on Thursday.

Cleveland haven't lost since June 15 - near the end of the NBA Finals, which was won by the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Carlos Carrasco (3-2, 2.73) is on the hill after shutting out the Detroit Tigers his last time out, and the Blue Jays will counter with R.A. Dickey (5-8, 4.23).
