Braves' Joel De La Cruz: Coming up to start Wednesday
De La Cruz will be recalled to start Wednesday against the Indians.
Analysis:
He seemed like a logical replacement for Aaron Blair, seeing as he was on the same schedule as Blair down at Triple-A Gwinnett. De La Cruz was summoned to the major league team twice earlier this season but did not end up appearing in a game. A nine-year minor league veteran, De La Cruz has posted a 4.68 ERA, 1.49 WHIP and 44:24 K:BB in 57.2 innings with Gwinnett this season. It's hard to imagine he'll get an extended audition in the rotation.
