Royals' Lorenzo Cain: Should return in mid July

Cain has a Grade 1-plus hamstring strain, meaning he should be able to come off the DL after the minimum 15 days, the Kansas City Star's Rustin Dodd reports.

Analysis:

Given the timing of his placement on the DL Wednesday, this means the soonest Cain can return is for the first game after the All-Star break on July 15. For now, Jarrod Dyson should see an uptick in playing time in center field with Brett Eibner also getting a handful of starts in the outfield corners and Paulo Orlando sliding over to center on those days.
